March Miata Madness 2025

Dates: March 21–23, 2025
Location: Jefferson, Texas (with a Friday kickoff in Tyler, TX)

March Miata Madness takes place in the historic East Texas town of Jefferson. Known for its charming 19th-century architecture, B&B accommodations, and proximity to Caddo Lake, Jefferson provides a picturesque setting for a low-key, sociable event. With reduced registration fees this year, it’s an even more accessible way to enjoy scenic drives, great food, and small-town hospitality.

The weekend starts on Friday at Velocity Mazda in Tyler, Texas, where participants will gather before heading out to Enoch’s Stomp Vineyard & Winery for a relaxed afternoon drive and an evening of wine and conversation. Saturday’s Show and Shine in downtown Jefferson rewards the best Miatas (and even non-Miatas) with trophies for categories like “Best NA” and “Best ND,” followed by afternoon runs through winding East Texas roads. Dinner at Riverport BBQ is included, so bring your wristband or badge. Sunday closes the event with a memorable drive around the lush wetlands of Caddo Lake, ending with a hearty meal at Big Pines Lodge.

If you’re craving some classic Southern hospitality, March Miata Madness delivers. Between the historic setting and the scenic drives, it’s a fantastic way to kick off the spring season and connect with other Miata owners who share your passion for open-top cruising.

Flyin’ Miata Summer Camp

Miata Day at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum

Date: July 13, 2025
Location: Larz Anderson Auto Museum, Brookline, MA

Set against the well-kept grounds of the Larz Anderson Auto Museum, Miata Day is the largest Miata/MX-5-specific event in the Northeast. It’s just a single day, but it’s packed with casual, picnic-style fun, classic rock music, and a strong sense of community. Whether you’re bringing a vintage NA, a tuned-up NC, or a bone-stock ND, you’ll fit right in.

Between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., cars line up on the museum’s lawn for a Show and Shine where attendees vote on their favorites in categories like “Best NA” and “Best ND RF.” Admission is $20 per car, which includes entry for the driver and a passenger, plus access to the museum’s automotive exhibits. Bring your own snacks or grab a bite on-site, and don’t forget a picnic blanket or foldable chairs to set up on the grass.

Miata Day at Larz Anderson offers a more relaxed pace, perfect for anyone who’d rather enjoy a laid-back vibe and a chat with fellow Miata fans than a multi-day driving marathon. If you’re in the Northeast or cruising through on vacation, this event is a must-see.

Additional Tips & Best Practices

When attending these events, be sure to reserve your accommodations well ahead of time, special rates and prime spots go quickly. Give your Miata a thorough once-over before hitting the road: check your tires, brakes, and fluid levels, and consider packing basic tools and a tire plug kit. It’s also wise to bring essentials like a portable chair, extra water, snacks, and a charger for your electronics.

If you’re attending a track session, verify the specific rules about helmets and car safety requirements so you’re not caught off guard. Above all, remember to respect local communities and speed limits, you’ll often be driving through small towns and scenic areas, and the Miata community is all about fun, not ruffling feathers. Last but not least, don’t be shy about striking up conversations with other owners. You can pick up plenty of useful tips and maybe even discover your next favorite modification.

In 2025, Miata events are stretching from the piney forests of East Texas to the high desert of Colorado, from the rolling hills of Tennessee to the twisty mountain passes of North Carolina. Whether you’re after a laid-back car show or an adrenaline-filled drive on legendary roads, there’s an event out there calling your name.

Above all, these gatherings are about camaraderie and a shared belief that driving should be a blast. So, polish that Miata, book your hotel, and get ready for a year packed with memorable experiences and new friendships. Safe travels, and see you at the shows!
